Should there be some other form of appeal against reputation loss?

I am not writing this to say I haven't been correctly treated by the rules. Still I think that sometimes people feel that something wasn't quite right, and then where exactly are they going to appeal? To the FAQs!? I do get that there are potentially a lot of difficult situations which the site can't always deal with individually. And if they can't, they can't. Still some other mechanism for resolution could at least be tried.

For example, in my situation I've had near 100 percent reputation for near 100 percent of the time I've been on the site, which is 6 years. Quite a long time. Now within literally a matter of days its dropped to 50 percent. Quite a lot of the reason for this was two encounters with the SAME player, who was rather quick to hit the kick out button when time run out. If I'd noticed it was the same guy, I might have avoided him, but unfortunately I didn't. The other was because of a connection problem which I could do nothing about. I will probably put a (personal) red thumb on him now, of course, but its a bit too late to avoid the damage to my rep. Meanwhile because of the rules which pile up even more reputation loss if that loss is 'recent', my rep has sunk like a stone!

I have tried upping reputation again, but its very slow, and each time due to the above problems its got worse. Its quite frustrating to say the least, and I feel quite sad about it. After all, people are rightly cautious of playing with someone with a bad rep. I guess I feel I deserve a bit better as a loyal member of BGA!

I think most people feel the opposite, that it's too easy restore perfect karma.

These stats do not show a model player. In nearly half your games you haven't committed to properly.

The big karma loss comes from the 4 recent games that you've quit ( not timed out ). Stop doing that should suffice.

If you get kicked for running out of time, it counts as "quit".

OP needs to learn to manage his time better. It is hard when you're learning a new game. Sometimes you just have to make a move that isn't necessarily the best just to avoid running out of time.

Look at it from the viewpoint of the other player. You play a game that's supposed to be 30 minutes and another player is using almost all his clock every move and it drags out for 60+ minutes.

I usually don't kick people for time if they're actively playing, unless they're REALLY slow or absent.

I'm a bit confused. I've been on the site for over a year and always been 100% , but I have not played many tournaments.

In a tournament game, I can see that I ran out of time and was kicked out, but I am not sure why that happened as I've been playing actively.
Is there a way to tell what time zone a game is recording in? I know I was not making moves at 3am my time. But I received the kicked-out notice after being on the site for several hours and not seeing this game come up. I played until late last night and I picked up at lunchtime today (I work fulltime, US EST).

I'm not complaining I am just trying to understand the time line

Once you run out of time, you can get kicked anytime when it's your turn.

The solution is to not run out of time. Check the time restrictions before joining a game or tournament.

Your argument is "That mean player kicked me from the game for running out of time." The other player's viewpoint is "They started a game and then abandoned it or played really slowly."
