Which takes away a big part of the game. I don't think I'll play it again like this unfortunately.
Hovering over an animal just explains the rule of movement, so you don't have to look it up or memorize it. I don't see how that detracts from the game. Most games in BGA are coded like that. I think it actually helps to enjoy the game, as you can just play and don't have to learn everything by heart. Over time you'll get a feel for it and won't even have to use that help.
Definitely seeing your point. And generally I'd agree with you, I appreciate it too when BGA helps me having an easier time rather than having to grind rules.
In Loco Momo the described movement for each animal in the middle of the board would have been enough for me personally. The way it is now I don't feel challenged enough.
I played the game some more and paid attention to your remark. I can see where you are coming from in this specific case. Might indeed be overkill, and take us a bit too much by the hand.

If you play on mobile, this 'problem' does not occur ;) .

In fact, by the site rules for reviewers, it should still be in Alpha: All elements should have tooltips, according to the guidelines, before moving out of Alpha. There's no undo ... if you make a placement mistake, you have to restart all placement, rather than just undoing the previous move. There's no scoring summary. Everything "works", but this is not up to the standards it should be for release.

And don't tell me to make suggestions, that's not the point .. the point is that the game interface is not polished enough to meet the published standards of this site for full release. And it is happening too often lately.

It's great that so many new games are being added ... but some seem to be getting pushed into the queue before they're done. They should be kept in Beta a little longer.
The review system really needs to be revamped.
instead of requiring a certain number of people to approve, every player should have to Approve or Reject it. 25 approvals is impressive when 30 people have played, dismal is 3,000 have played it.

And instead of doing so based on the whole list of criteria (which to be honest, most games on the site don’t meet in its entirely), they should be presented with 1-3 to judge it on each time.

While I agree that the "10 approvals" requirement is fairly meaningless, for the reasons you give, this really isn't the full story - and you're giving a misleading impression that any adaptation with a sufficient number of approvals gets automatically approved for release.

10 approvals is only a requirement to move from Alpha to Beta. And while it's a necessary condition, it isn't sufficient in itself. The publisher also has to play the adaptation and give their approval, before BGA will allow the game to move to Beta. And of course that's only to get it to Beta. I don't know precisely what criteria BGA apply to say when a game in Beta is considered ready for full release, but I do know they look at the bug list, and I'm pretty sure they won't agree to release it if there are a large number of serious bugs, particularly if said bugs haven't had any response from the developer after being open for a long time.

I'm not saying that every game released is perfect or that sometimes games aren't released that could have had some improvements - but it's false to suggest that all it takes for full release is a small group of reviewers to say it's OK.

I was particularly referencing going from alpha to beta, but can see where I was not explicit.
But thanks for the rest of that info - i didn’t realize there was more involved in moving to beta.
It is good to know that the publisher is involved there, but admittedly, I don’t expect the publisher to be looking at most of the things on the reviewer checklist.

Very fun game with cute artwork. I want to say thanks to the designers, and the developers.
When BGA say complexity is zero, do they refer to how fast you can learn it? Because there is some strategy and thinking between turns, and it is not just some children's game IMO.

I only played this game once (or twice?) but it made no sense to me whatsoever. Hopefully there is now a better explanation of how to play, or a better tutorial or something. The artwork was very nice though 👌
