Arena - 1 player is doing Monopoly on Arena Dice Hospital

Post by Hardin2000 »

Hello

One player is queued pretty much ever time for Arena Dice Hospital. He is * with 63 tables open of the same game. When I try to queue he is always there. He is on most of turn based Dice Hospital arena games.

I believe that many people don't try arena Dice Hospital anymore because of him.

*link removed*

I don't think that is Arena philosophy 1 player vs ALL, the idea should be people play against different people, not always against the same guy.

In my opinion, something should be changed to not alow a player have more than 15 or 20 Arena games (of one game) on turn based mode at once.

Thank you.

Or if you're in a lower league than Elite you can just adjust your settings to not get matched with players in Elite.

Honestly, I don't see the issue, they probably enjoy that game that much, and it is totally fine.

The problem is not me.

I have a decent Elo, and on current game we will tie. And I bet that I will win enough against him to get a good place on arena.
The problem is with Arena monopoly many players will quit. That is why Arena Dice hospital only have 20 elite's atm. And we have like 2-3 hours to get the 3rd game player.

1 player is breaking the whole arena season, because people don't want to come. This problem can happen on other games too.
Monopoly's are never good anywhere.

And if he like the game so much. Why he never sign for any tournament, or do some ranked friendlys? Even I created Dice Hospital tournaments before. He never signs. It's only arena.

No. Please stop spreading that rumor. Souris has confirmed it doesn't work that way and they don't even want it that way.

I think the point of OP is: "Should it be allowed?", which I think is a valid point to discuss. Personally, I would echo those who don't see a problem there. But I can understand that it is annoying if you want to have a competition in the Arena.

If it really bugs you then indeed the solution is probably to give a red thumb.

I don't like the fact that giving a red thumb also means you won't play with them in any other game and also you cannot revisit your earlier RT-decisions easily. So maybe it's best, if you take a note yourself to be able to visit their profile later and remove the red thumb, when you feel like playing with them again.

However that person did nothing wrong by queuing for arena games a lot. Also they did nothing wrong by not signing up for tournaments and not playing simple games. It's not their fault that there are too few players in arena to fill more tables without them.

The problem is not playing only arena. The problem is the Monopoly of the Arena games. Arena is not supposed to be 1 against all. but All against all.

And that is killing Dice Hospital arena this season

And that's my point. Should exist some limit of the number of the arena games that a player can play at same time on a certain game. To avoid monopoly, and allow other players to compete with different opponents each game.

What is the grounds for putting a limit?
Seemingly this person has A LOT OF FREE TIME, doesn't get bad karma for being late, so no grounds on punishing him. (I guess, I didn't check)
This person isn't cheating, so no grounds on punishing him.
This person is using 1 single account, instead of like others being accused of using many accounts and dominate the leaderboards with multiple accounts, so no grounds on punishing him.

So limiting his active participation from BGA-side is a way of punishing him.
What if this is someone who is sick at home, can't leave his house, and all he has all day is play on BGA, you want to take it away from that person?

Is there realy 1 single good reason on what makes it valid to put limitations when there is no cheating involved?
