How do you purchase a ship for coins?

In the rules it says, At Any Time, you can purchase a ship for coins instead of using the build for wood spots. How do you do that? Since it doesn't cost any vikings, I assume I can purchase a ship for coins and then place on a spot which requires that ship. But I can't find in the UI where you do that.

Great game by the way! This is one of the most interesting games I have played in years, so many options.

On the left side, the third icon down, if you click it you will see all three types of boats. Each one has a button to buy it with coins.

Excellent, thanks! I think I missed it because when I went searching, I didn't have any coins. Never thought to look there again once I was "wealthy".
