Canceling move in bga's interface

Post by Romain672 »

Hi world, I was wondering something.
Could we add an option which in the settings in the top right, you would get an option to ask to cancel the last move.

If any player click on it, others players got a message: "Xxx want to cancel the last move of the game, do you agree? Yes - No - No (don't ask me again this game)" and a forth option only on cooperative games ( https://boardgamearena.com/gamelist?sec ... tutorial=0 ) or if the table is in training mode or if the table is limited with friends only: "Yes (don't ask me again this game)".

If every player clicked on it, then the game will refresh for every player and will replay every move until that point except the last turn.

Would this be something doable? That would be good?

Note this setting would not care about the amount of information given during that turn, it would just always be available.
If it's a competitive game, then players should answer no.

So you could use it to cheat on cooperative game. But is it a problem? Players already cheat.

This has been suggested countless times, I'm sure you did your research well enough so that you saw the dozens of topics about it. But it's just not easily doable to do this.

Oh I missed your message.
I mean on my knowledge, my solution should work and should be easily doable. You can't generate the game state like you did on replay during a game? (just a 'no' could be enough for me, even if i'm interrested by the coding part too)

The problem is that it's not a great solution. That require lots of clicks for one action and replay the whole game for all players which isn't free for the server, but it has the advantage to ask everyone if they agree to it, and look to be done at any moment, even when it reveal unknown information or when the dev didn't coded it.

No. Replays are just playing the notifications one after the others, there are no backend data associated with that so it could not be used to continue the game from that point

Even in replay, you can't go "one step back" (unfortunately).

It replay the whole game, so you kinda can.

Thanks all then :)
