Appeal Timeline

Post by charanth182 »

Hi all,

I realize that the last few weeks were winter holidays for many. So if that's the reason please let me know.

I have a friend I played with regularly on here. They only play with our play group and never with other random people. As a result they've been flagged as manipulating the ELO (which is strange none of us who allegedly assisted them have been flagged). Naturally they want to appeal but have received no response from BGA.

In order to continue playing BGA's system insists that my friend basically admit wrong doing.

What is people's experience getting BGA to respond? Is this a lost cause?

In case anyone sees this after being in the same boat the response timeline is never.... Or at least 4 months without a response from BGA.

Rejected appeals are commonly ignored. I presume that it was rejected then.

I don't understand the underlying problem about ELO manipulation. Should one only play in training mode when playing with friends? I think BGA should see when someone plays only with limited group and then it could lower the affect of those games to your ELO. That could even be done with regular plays, so that if you play many games / rematches with the same opponent, it could start lowering the effect on the ELOs.

Personally I play hundreds and hundreds of turn-based Arena games on my own, but every once in a while I also do game nights with my parents where we play a bunch of real-time "normal" games for several hours. For their accounts it's almost the only time they play, and since they live together they are on the same IP. We haven't had issues yet and I'm hoping we never do. :(
