russia is a country terrorist, which kill more then 100 children in Ukraine, murder numerous of civilian people, make violence in occupied cities and vilages, genocide in Mariupol and other places. Any support of russia means terrorism and threat of safe in Europe. Don`t see any reason to support a russian people, they has blood on their hands. It is not about only Putler it is about all russians.
Did you even read what some Russian players here have responded? They do not support the actions of their government and still you say you see no reason to support Russian people? You are now spitting in the faces of the same people that share the same views.
So I know very well what some russians write. And I know very well what russians living in russia say. In the first week of the war, my staff and I wrote hundreds of letters to russians on social media with photos of killed people and bombed houses, asking them to stop. But all of us received typical answers: in Ukraine is no war; this is a special operation; you are fascists; it is best time to destroy Ukraine, etc. No matter how wild it may sound, but
... most russians enjoy what is happening in Ukraine. It is impossible and awful for me, like European, to understand it. There were those who said "we are for peace" ... Ukraine have surrender. When russians talk about peace, they mean the occupation of Ukraine.

I don't know which country you are from, but if you are not from Eastern Europe, you will not understand the main thing. russia is not Europe and never has been. It is alien to the values not only of democracy but also of humanity. During the last 300 years of genocide, Holodomor (famine), occupation and terror, Ukrainians know very well that the russians are an imperial nation that has nothing to do with the modern world.

russia is a killer country starting wars - Transnistria, Chechnya, Abkhazia, Ossetia, Syria, Donbas, Crimea ... How many more wars does this country-maniac need to start until the world stops it?

russians (not just Putin) see themselves as a special nation with the right to destroy, kill and plunder entire nations. Everyone who has ever had a border with russia knows this. And if we do not completely stop them in the war with Ukraine, the world will remain in danger.

The question is not Putin, as many think, but the distorted perception of the world by russians. Yes, there are about 10% of liberal people in russia, but they can only come to power in russia, which will not have an oil and gas pipeline as a weapon.

Any more ridiculous strawmen you feel like setting up?

I do support blocking the site for Russians, yes, because I support making the country a pariah state until the atrocities stop and Putin gets removed. Unfortunately, there would be some anti-war Russians affected by this. I'm sure the inconvenience to them will be less than what's happening in Ukraine right now.

Also, there have been plenty of alternative proposals that don't involve an outright ban.

On the war crimes in Ukraine: https://www.hrw.org/news/2022/04/03/ukr ... lled-areas

If there isn't a reason for BGA to at least modify their initial statement with consultation with the Ukrainian community on BGA, I don't know what else is.

Here's another idea on the Russian flag: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/ ... -for-peace

BGA can include the new flag in the flag list so that Russian folks who oppose the war can use it.

It would seem that they should be ashamed of what their country is doing, but no...

It's sad to see how many people believe that the fire will end if you constantly add fuel. Bga position absolutely right.

In my opinion, there are a lot of Russians in the BGA leadership, so they take such a position. Otherwise, from the point of view of logic and humanity, it is impossible to explain.

It almost sounds like you read zero of the responses desiring that Russian players should not be punished.

EDIT: Criticism against the lack of communication from the admins is now apparently deemed an insult that needs to be moderated.
