Many alpha games not accessible

Post by tubiroman »

Hi,

I'm pretty new in alpha testing. I tried to access few games like wazabi and burgle bros and it keeps saying that the games are not accessible. Is that normal?

Yes, it is. To see the page for an Alpha game you either need to be a BGA reviewer (see link https://boardgamearena.com/reviewer - you almost certainly won't have access but that page should tell you what the requirements are, essentially it's "play a huge number of games on BGA"), or to be specifically invited to the players' group. Hence the number of posts you see on Alpha forums saying "please add me" - but it's up to an admin, usually the developer behind the BGA adaptation, to respond and add you, some are more generous than others!

I added you to the Rive group Tubiroman. Make sure you give it 5 stars.

(joking)

Well, kind of half serious.

You have to sign up to review each alpha game before it becomes accessible to you.

Go to community tab on top menu, then to ' review and approve alpha games'. Find the game you are interested in on that page and hit the start reviewing button by it. You can not even see the game info page until you do that.

Yes, this. Apologies for not realising this was the position you were in.
