I have also canceled my membership. I wish there was more we could do. This non-response is disgraceful. I have no desire to play with Russian players. I have seen them say terrible things about the war in chat and decided I am done. The fact that we are penalized for that is ridiculous. Their country is committing genocide, forgive me if I don't feel bad if they can't play a board game online when they want to. BGA needs to follow most of the world's lead and take firmer action. Shame on them.

What a random thing they say in chat, do they say it out of the blue, or did you bring it up? It could feel as if attacking them in chat by bringing up the war. Something which should not be done around the table, and if you brought it up, it could be provocation.

Thanks BGA for adequacy. As a person with friends from Ukraine i can tell that the are too many fakes that makes people hate each other. The true peacelovers never hates anybody especially when people have not done anything to have this.

Voriki, are you provoking me by saying this nonsense? If a player feels provoked by mention of the war their country has initiated, then they should explain exactly why they are offended to the BGA moderators. Cause for feeling provoked is subjective and not a clearly defined line.
What is clear, is that Russia invaded Ukraine and are killing hundreds of civilians and continue doing so, while they are allowed to play games...

This is a thread about the subject, so no provocation here as this is to be expected here. But metioning it in a random game that has NOTHING to do with the war, should revolve about the game. So yes, mentioning it in a game is provocation.

On the one hand, one of the reasons why Russian players were not banned by BGA is to continue to circulate the information about the genocide and the war in Ukraine to counter Russian propaganda, but when a Ukrainian player speaks about the war and the genocide in game, you consider that as an act of provocation? Don't you see a problem with you logic here? If anything, players who are offended by the discussion of genocide and the war in Ukraine should change the name to "butthurt", if they consider such discussion as provocation.

Again, this is another reason why BGA needs to make at least another statement to clarify how the discussion of the genocide and the war in Ukraine should be moderated in game. Otherwise, by allowing players to stay on BGA who express pro-genocide and pro-war positions, BGA's lack of action implies that there is a merit to what such players are saying about the atrocities in Ukraine.

This statement should be made in consultation with the large community - a call for participation should be made, since based on my interaction with the BGA I don't think they fully understand what is at stake and what is happening in Ukraine. I don't have a lot of confidence in them writing something adequate by themselves, since they don't take the whole thing very seriously.

yes, when someones mentions phrase "war or genocide in Ukraine" these should an automatic message generated in the chat, saying "Are you feeling provoked by the discussion of Russian war crimes in Ukraine? Please contact the admin and report the player". This suggestion may only seem normal to you if you think that there is some merit to what Russia is doing in Ukraine. Your point also implies that a Ukrainian player has no right to speak about the genocide and the war crimes even if they are personally affected by them to any player unless someone else asks them a question, like "how are you doing?" You still don't see a problem with this? I'm sorry but what you are saying makes no sense.
