levels on gamelist page, what do they mean?

Hi all,

on the https://boardgamearena.com/gamelist, I see these small banners on the bottom with "silver level 7" and similar. They seem to be related to arena, but I can't make sense of it. Also they sometimes seem to disappear

They display your current level in arena

ok, I see. Does it lag behind when it changes? Today it is off by 1 (level 1 = zero points?) I think yesterday it was off by different amounts
