Is a simultanous real time game possible?

Post by MiKelloggs »

Hello, I am a new developer to BGA with a decent background in web design. I am looking to implement Bullet <3 on the platform. Bullet is a fast paced real time puzzle game where players simultaneously take actions over 3 minute rounds. The core of the game is relatively straight forward, but I don't think I have seen a game like this implemented before, where all players are doing actions at the same time. Is something like this possible, or has something similar been implemented before? Many thanks!

AFAIK the best example is dobble. I don't know of any others (apart from maybe Concept?). It sounds like it's feasible. I guess it might just boil down to how much and how fast stuff happens.

Captain Sonar has a license, and 4 people have started a project on BGA Studio. I don't know if that's a bad sign.
Escape of the cursed temple, in Alpha, has a real-time timer of some sort. I can't add any more info than that for that one.

Best of luck.

I was trying to implement one. It's called "Please Fix The Teleporter". It's in alpha currently and no changes were made for a while but it was kind of working. If you have access to Studio - you can check it

Language is a source of misunderstanding. (Antoine de Saint-Exupery: The Little Prince) But it is also the source of understanding - it all depends on how you use it. :-)

Yes, realtime games are doable in BGA studio. Realitime game play is implemented in one of The Crew games, Magic Maze, Escape the Curse of the Temple.
