switching from real time to turn based

Post by GreenP55 »

If my opponent stops playing in a Real Time game and 'times out' and i switch the game from Real Time to Turn Based does that mean the opponent will be forced to make a move in our game before they can play/start a new game (of the same game)?

If yes, switching to Turn Based forces your opponent to complete a game instead of losing because they timed out.

Background.
I've started playing Bubble pop - so i'm an apprentice, totally new, not very good yet. This game takes 15 - 20 minutes to complete - longer than the games i'm used to. Twice in only a few games my opponent has stopped playing and timed out. I'm not used to this happening. Once they were still online, once thy dropped out. Both times i switched to Turn Based play and they completed the game.

Here's my query. Both times i think they were in losing positions (i could be wrong cause I'm so new at this game) but I'm a bit paranoid and so i ascribed unsportsmanlike motives to them dropping out, (I'm trying to become a better person - but there are soooo many bad sports out there - oops - there i go again). I got to thinking, when I have Turn Based games in progress in Backgammon, the system forces me to move in the game that is waiting before it lets me start a new backgammon game so, when i switched the game to Turn Based did that force the other player to return and make a move before they could play with someone else or did they come back pleased i hadn't kicked them out?

BTW, just to colour your judgement, neither of them thanked me for not ending the game so that reinforced my paranoia.

You can have hundreds of open tables in turnbased games. So it doesn't force your opponent to make his move eventually, but he will always be prompted to do it as it is his move.

Every time he wants to go through his turnbased game actions, he'll keep returning to that table.
