Again, that's your opinion, we got it, no need to discuss it further.
I'm not sure what you're saying?
Please do not mess with the Scenario's. Take it out on the poor sport or adjust the point value...anything but the Scenarios and one-way play.
If you take a look, you will see that the author of this thread and those people who talk as though they have a genuine interest in this game...in fact don't! they have only played 4 Battles, really!
M44 provides unbalanced Scenarios for a reason. Believe it or not - Some players enjoy one-way play, AKA unbalanced scenarios...if you're not there you are missing the spirit of camaraderie the game itself provides...you become the poor sport now! I would guess 80% of players who engage in a "friendly" game of M44 do so with points in mind. If you take points away from some of the Scenarios that the game provides, those displaced scenarios will never get played.
You're going to have cheaters and Crybabies in every game. Changing the rules rather than playing within them is going to have a negative effect.
M44 provides unbalanced Scenarios for a reason.
I'll explain, even though most of you don't care...you seem to only care about points.
When you come across a Scenario that you see as being unbalanced - first instinct is - I don't want to play it. Let's say you come across a [legit] pro player...top of the Legue. He tells you that you must beat him in a Scenario (one-way) of his choosing before he will play your Scenario (a Scenario of your choosing). Are you going to play him (So much for your stance on one-way play)? So, you play him one game and you lose; you play him two, three, four, 12 games and you lose every time. Now you are convinced that he set you up, as he continually gave you the losing (obvious unbalanced) side. SO, you cry whine and scream...He gives in and decides to switch sides...he is now playing the losing side. remember that this Scenario is totally unbalanced 12 to 0, right!
He wins, you get your B*tt kicked, he wins again, and again, he wins a few more times. How many games are you going to play before putting your head between your legs while walking off, never to play the game again??? Or are you going to offer to (switch sides) take the "losing' side once again, with the hope of learning something?
I've taken an interest in playing the losing side on many unbalanced Scenario, one such scenario: Japanese, 36% win while Americans 74% win (out of 1700 games played). I played it so much (over 100 games); the Japanese ended up 39% win. Most all M44 players play the Japanese differently than any other nation. Some (two that I can remember) of my opponents took note. Most players didn't see or learn a thing, they simply took it as dice being the main contributing factor dealing with my repeated victory. Some players wouldn't play against me, in that scenario anymore.
You will not learn unless you put yourself out there. This game takes more than meets the eye. Get involved. Don't get in the habit of turning Down one-way play, you're giving it a bad name (Already happening). The player base needs A shift to thinking about one-way scenarios for mastery rather than measurement/points.
When An Honest player picks the losing side of a one-way Battle and gets flack for not giving his opponent a chance "to play the losing side (?? really), something Seriously wrong...Come on!
Let me ask you this; What do you think about a player that only plays two scenarios, only the side in which he has a *disadvantage, and only 1 way, and wins 94% of his games?
Answer: Cheater, CHEATER!!!
That "cheating strategy"
'Cheating' Can Be an Effective [Learning] Strategy? evidently, you've never heard of the "
Kobayashi Maru"
