Red thumbs and karma

My friend's just got such a message... again...

However, there are no quitting mentioned in their profile for more than 30 days now. So we wonder if anybody actually checks the validity of such red thumbs at all? Or it's just automatically done, and basically anyone can now get -40 points to karma for no reason? It's a puny nuisance, for sure, but still a nuisance, especially when you have no idea who did it to you and why...

Sadly its the way the system works. A single red thumb can tip you over the limit, you get the penalty. play another couple of games and the % of red thumbs drops. Get another red thumb (for an utterly spurious reason with no substance or evidence), and get hit by the penalty yet again. It's ridiculous. It's a stupid stupid system. Sadly the site is full of snowflakes who can't take being beaten, but will red thumb you instead.

Which is why red thumbs are limited to a certain percentage of green thumbs. Players can't keep giving reds unless they give greens as well.

I would even say a red or green thumb from some frequent players should be worth even more than some casual players, and their voting style.
I give out a lot of green thumbs, mainly anyone who plays a game well and on time. To get a red thumb out of me, you're really have to mess up(most likely swearing in chat). Because my balance to given green thumbs is far higher than having given an equivalent of red thumbs, I feel as if my red thumbs should be worth more than a red thumb of someone who frequently puts people in the red.
