You can request a new feature in Suggestions, or add your vote to previous suggestions to reduce the scope of these warnings. (There's a link to one suggestion thread in the post above.)

If you read the most recent locked thread, you‘ll know why nothing will ever happen on that topic, in the world of snowflakes that is catered for here.

You are definitely not alone in your opinion: a very large number of people want it removed. It is one of the most popular suggestions, however BGA has completely ignored it for years: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=9903. Even their post in this topic dances around the issue.

There is an extremely easy solution to all of this: display a message above every chat once that using bad language is reportable, and disable this nonsensical filter. It truly is ridiculous that on an international site like this, Swedes, Germans and who knows what other nationalities are being warned for using normal words.
Thank you very much for your understanding and your support! 👍😊 But can you help me and show me, how I can do that? I haven't any idea...🤔
You can't. KongKing123 was proposing a new feature, not telling you about an existing one.
Thanks for the information! But it would be awesome if it's come...

The warning about language will appear in any chat on BGA. However, there is no moderation for it unless you are reported by another player. Therefore, if you are chatting with friends and everyone involved in the private chat takes no offence at your language, there will be no moderation report and no penalty.

Any news on this, other than dodging the issue?

Myself and thousands of other players would like to know: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=9903

Is there any chance to remove the word "Lust" in German chats from this filter? It is so incredibly frequent...
Thanks!

best regards

@brigdezocker Try using whitespace within the "bad" words or underscore attached

Out of curiosity, is there any non-english word from a foreign language that people are being warned of?

People still see that big fat warning message and get scared. They often dont realize the message and get so derailed from it that communication stalls. And why? Because BGA Chat automod does not like germans talking german

Well, when you are talking in a public space, you have to keep in mind that a child could be reading your posts.

When you are privately chatting with someone during a game, you are free to say anything, I believe. There can be a "warning" that triggers from certain terms, but it doesn't actually do anything, it's just a heads up to remind the other person that they can report you if they want.
