Why the heck does the home page start with a huge list of comments?

I mean don't you want to showcase the highlights of your web site first instead of a huge list of comments? I love BGA, am a premium member and play all the time and for the first 13 days of July I had no reminder anywhere about the summer game a day release. I found the chest half way down the home page just today. Wierd.

The Summer of Games was announced in conjunction with the release of Splito: "SPLITO the all-new smart card game + Summer of Games Calendar!"

The calendar appears on my screen without needing to scroll down.

On mobile you have to scroll down quite a bit until you reach it. And no notification at all that a new chest is available to open.

I use a PC to log in, so I get a different view, I'm wondering what it looks like to people on tablets if they hold it horizontally. My view has it off to the side, but I still have to scroll the page to find it.

I think there are maybe two questions here:
-Firstly, the positioning of the summer of games chest and reminders
-Secondly, there are a lot of messages about tournament changes for any game that I've played (and have therefore automatically joined the 'GameX Players' group) on the front page, so even if you could restrict the home page messages to a certain date range you could still get a bunch of messages pushing down the banners beneath the message area.

The first one is obvious, but if the OP is more bothered by the volume of messages, then I think the questions become
-Should we automatically join a group for every game we play, even just once?
-Should all players get messages about tournament changes, even if they don't play arena?
-should we be able to filter/adjust the message window as we wish?

I know there are ongoing changes for the user experience going on, but has there been any consultation about a few of these things? I can't remember ever seeing something like a survey, so the only feedback they get is from the minority of users who go in to the forums and bug report areas. If I'm right, that's a pretty massive oversight

This is actually why I posted. I read the announcement and was looking forward to the new releases. The last one was fun. Then I forgot about it which of course is totally on me. I just found it odd that I didn't see it on any pages in two weeks of playing daily. I would think they would want the spotlight on all the new releases.

Maybe I'm in the minority of people that play on mobile but I only play on mobile. My home page has a banner of Tigris and Euphrates at the top and then a whole whack of posts saying "A new season has started" for this or that game. They're for games I've played but I'm not a part of any groups. Have to scroll way down to find home page stuff.

Just thought it was weird for a home page. No biggie. I've got lots of love for BGA. Been playing for years. I know the devs put tons of time and effort into the platform.
