How do I config games before inviting friends?

It seems like the only way to config a game is to start a game with people first, but then once someone joins your game, you no longer can config and change settings. So I ended up had to quit the game and start a new one and tell everyone not to join first then msg them again to join once I have all the settings done. I have lost a lot of reputations because of it. Sure this can't be right?

You don't have to start a game with people first.
Create a new table and don't open the table so others can join until you've configured the table settings.

Using the rematch button can sometimes be problematic because it automatically opens the table.

1) Instead of the "Play with Friends" option, set the option to "Manual."
2) Click on the "Play Now" button of the game you want (or the table icon if there is already an active queue).
3) Click "Create a new table."
4) Do your table configuration stuff.
5) Do not click "open table to other players." Instead, use the "Invite a Friend" button once you have it set the way you want.
