I'm not sure I have played with exactly the same settings - I chose the second button down on the Automa level which I took to be the default difficulty but I notice my replay says 6/6 automa cards whereas yours says 7/7. Unfortunately the game log doesn't contain the Automa difficulty chosen.

In any case, it was better than my first effort which scored a paltry 77.
I watched your game (well played). It seems you choosed the same automa than me. I have also 6 cards on turn 1.

All my certainties have been destroyed in one replay... Not a single upgrade on the science or economic tracks (I thought it was a mandatory condition to win, what a noob). You don't play both end game goals and yet... you beat Ultoma. It's poetry.

Thank you for the appreciation.
End game goals make very little difference in a 2p game, so they are not worth pursuing in my opinion.

I hope that it is not against the rules to post a replay that is a loss.
It will not enter the competition, obviously, but may give some pointers to anyone, who is trying to beat he Alptrauma.
Here I lost 213 to 219: https://boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=301499637

Alptrauma is just Ultoma with more points, so if you perform the same sequence of actions against Ultoma, you should win with that score against a lower score.

If you have time to do so, could you consider to share with us how you plan your first turns ?

My goal is to take as many "recurring bonuses" as possible. 3 of the available 4 in this case. The reasoning is that they give a compound benefit if taken at the beginning of the game.

That is why I take the QIC bonus at the beginning. 1st temple gives +1 QIC; Research also gives +1 QIC and together with the starting one, they allow for a 4 QIC action.

The 4QIC can be taken at the +2 white cubes/workers (sorry, I come from TM and do not yet know all the names) and together with the accumulated power (also through the taken tile), we can take 1 more white worker (or 2, if the power-action is still available) to finish our second temple and take our third "recurring bonus" tile.

Additional considerations are that:
- upgrade both houses to a trading stations as early as possible, so we can leech more power throughout the round
- one of the first 2 bonus tiles that we take, should be the one that charges 4 power, so that we can have enough power for the +1white worker for the second temple
- one of those first 3 bonus tiles should be the one, giving +1 white cube/worker, otherwise we will be short on workers throughout our next moves.
- with two temples, we get +3 blue chips of income, therefore it would be good if at least one upgrade is on the science track, or our third bonus tile gives +1 blue chip, so we have +4 each round
- one of the research actions that gives us a QIC, should be on the transportation track, because we will need transportation in the next round.
- also, one of our first 2 station placements should be next to a purple gaia if we are terrans, because we do not have higher transportation on the first round.

That is pretty much it :D
