The profile page of the player I referred to does not just say he is a Christian. It links to a specific religious website.

How is that not advertising?

(And yes, as I said above, I already reported it.)

The Moderation page was updated! https://en.doc.boardgamearena.com/Moderationpolicy

"Inappropriate avatar or username

As a rule of thumb, advertisement is forbidden.
However, if it refers to a "cult brand" with no intention to provide a real advertisement (ex: football team), or if the reference to the brand is not obvious or is discrete (ex: joke on Apple logo), it may be tolerated.

As a rule of thumb, players should avoid using their avatar to advertise for politics/religion or any other opinion. However, if the image is clearly not shocking for the vast majority of BGA players, it may be tolerated."

If the advertising is the actual issue for you, and not the fact that someone publicly likes a certain religion, I assume the user could be asked to delete those links from the "About Me" area.
But then again... the Moderation Policy mentions nothing about the "About Me" area, only about the Avatar and about the Username...
They say that only those 2 should avoid politics and etc.

Thanks for sharing that.

But I have to say, a moderation policy that states that certain things 'may be tolerated' seems highly problematic to me. We look to policies for clarity.
