Please limit the total number of simultaneous games someone can play

Post by boriwor »

Is there a way that BGA can put a max limit on total number of games one player can start simultaneously?
I'm in a tournament where my opponent subscribed, but hasn't made one single move in the past 4 days. There's a time limit of 5 days per player, so he will definitely lose the game, but still as a player who wants to play, it's not nice... He has been online almost continuously in the past days, but did not play yet, also not in the other games in our round robin tournament group.
When I clicked his profile, I see that he's currently playing over 500 games. Even if playing on BGA is his fulltime occupation, it's not realistic to do this in a proper way. He also subscribed for a few dozen other tournaments in the meantime, making his list of simultaneous games even longer.

So my question: is there a way to limit this to eg 50 games max per person (in general of course, not only for my opponent)? This will still bring a sufficient amount of variety for the player, without having a too big negative effect on the opponents...
And if you've reached this limit, you cannot subscribe for new tournaments or start new single games.

No, not all players are the same.
Some can easily play 1.000 games and are never late, others can barely keep up with 20 games.
So you would be punishing the players who can play 1.000 turnbased games at once without a reason due to actions of the few.

When someone joins the site, they do have a limit that they can only play 1 turn based game, I think, until they finished at least 1 game. Then their limite gets raised to 2, until they finish another one, then they can do 3 games, etc...

However this restriction gets lifted for Premium users(I think), which may be a thing they shouldn't do, or find something inbetween(such as raising the limit by 2 games each time).

I came here to make a suggestion but saw this and think my suggestion goes with this.

I am a person who plays a lot of games at once (not 500 or even 200, but I am often up around 100), and one thing I do not like is how the queue of my games is ordered. It is ordered via time left to play, which makes sense -- except for one thing: tournaments do not replenish time. So if I have 23 hours to complete a move in an Arena game, that is much different than even having 3 days in a tournament game, so when I make the arena move my time will replenish a bit, but in the tournament it does not. This leads to a situation where I am in like the 5th round of a tournament, but I don't realize my match has started and it goes to the bottom of my queue. It might take me a day or even 2 before I play a turn in that game (or reasons I can explain if you want, but are probably not needed).

Thus, I would love to see all tournament games queued above all other games, then when I click on my queue it will always load a tournament game automatically first if one is available.

I am going to make a new suggestion thread saying this but wanted to post it here as well.
