I've joined a lot of Catan tables recently, and I've noticed a lot of low-karma players joining as well, more than any other game I've played on this site. For Catan, it makes sense - if you kingmake, accidentally or otherwise, you might find yourself with a lot of red thumbs. I've given out a few thumbs myself, for players who completely throw games.
But players opening tables don't set karma requirements. Why? Do players not know how to restrict table access? A table will fill, the game will automatically be started, but then will be cancelled once someone notices how low the karma is for one of the players. Sometimes this will happen several times in a row. Anyone know why this is so common?
(I'm not complaining about Catan, BGA, or the implementation of the game; I've had fun playing Catan here and will continue to do so. I'm just wondering why this is all the case.)
