I'm unsure what you mean by this...playing asynchronous shouldn't change anything fundamental to the game. The only argument I can think of is if someone stalls gameplay so that the game doesnt end before the deadline.

Well in IRL and in most Online tournaments this is how we play it.
Playing in turn based mode allows to think about your moves for way more time. It can also make cheating (helped by an other player) easier, as it can get frustating to some players to play a move every twelve hours.

If real time play doesn't suits you, im sure there will be other players interested in turn based tournaments!
