Tournament Round 2 Waikirikiri va VampiroITA "Battle for The Mesnil Adelée!"

Initially we had trouble loading the .m44 scenario file.
When Waikirikiri created the table he couldn't upload the file because the system told him it wasn't his turn.
On the third attempt we managed to load the scenario.

Waikirikiri was Allies VampiroITA was Axis and moved first.
Waikirikiri destroyed to Panzer units and heavily damaged a third in the first 2 turns with extremely lucky rolls.
A well played ambush blunted Waikirikiri's attack when "Their Finest Hour" retreating & damaging an attacking armour unit.
In his next turn finished off the armour unit.

Two tank kills each, but VampiroITA's remaining panzers had only 1 figure each.

Strategic maneuvering and shooting followed without many hits or kills.
Slowly edged ahead.

A "Close Assault saw Waikirikiri edge out to 5-3.

Waikirikiri used an "Armor Assault" on a 1 figure infantry to attempt the victory.
A second ambush saw 1 armour unit retreated, while the 2nd completed the victory.

Waikirikiri 6 medals 25 figures (12 infantry 13 armour) vs VampiroITA 3 medals 10 figures (10 armour).

Second battle Waikirikiri Axis vs VampiroITA Allies
Waikirikiri's initial cards included "Direct from HQ" x 2 and an "Armor Assault"

Waikirikiri maneuvered waiting for the Allies to advance.
Waikirikiri's first attack was nnot as successful as the first battle, but fighting settled in the centre.hisn
On the 3rd turn the Amour Assault saw Waikirikiri eliminate 2 Allied armour units.

With Waikirikiri attacking in the centre VampiroITA was only able to respond from the flanks.

After a two more turns Waikirikiri finished off the Allied armour in the centre, leaving one on VampiroITA's right flank.
This armour unit the proceeded to eliminate two panzer units in the centre.

A Close Assault saw Waikirikiri eliminate the remaining Allied armour unit and take the church for the win.

Waikirikiri 6 medals 15 figures (15 armour) vs VampiroITA 3 medals 10 figures (10 armour).

No infantry units or figures destroyed in the second battle.

Over the 2 battles Waikirikiri rolled 114 dice versus VampiroITA 58 - telling numbers.
.
Waikirikiri 1st 12 beats 2nd VampiroITA 6

VampiroITA a worthy opponent for whom the cards and dice did not co-operate.

Sir Wesk vs Rainbow Tux

Sir Wesk (Axis) - Rainbow (Allies) : 6 - 3
Sir Wesk (Allies) - Rainbow (Axis) : 6 - 2

Total: Sir Wesk 12 - 5 Rainbow Tux

2 exciting battles together with a pleasant opponent :)
Dice and cards favoured me, but Rainbow struggled to overcome the bad luck.

Thank you very much, I wish you all the best!

I had some very lucky dice in the first round and my blitz paid off thanks to them. I then apparently switched dice with Trociu and they actually ended the second match 6 to 3 with a strong resistance to my offensive race to gain 2 medals.

A very enjoyable match played with an even more enjoyable human being! We've already started the rematch 😉

Thanks for organizing this again and for all the great people who signed up to play!

Great game with some fascinating turns regarding luck. :-P We both tended to be a bit more reserved/cautious for the first few turns before going full aggression for the remainder of the game. Well played!
