Not finishing Games???

Post by AamStarRunner »

Help! I’ve gotten “you didn’t finish a game” three times when I always wait until the winner is announced to close it out. This last time it penalized my karma. (My karma is low because I didn’t know what I was doing when I started several days ago- I’ve got it now)

One time is no big deal, twice is annoying, three times is unbelievable. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? I don’t get any kind of warning when I leave these games, so I’m not sure why I’m getting the message. Should I submit as a bug?

From looking at your game logs I do see a few turn based games where it records that you quit. Did you hit the quit option at some point? If so then don't do that as it doesn't just close the screen down it exits ghe game entirely.

If not then tell us which game it happened in and I will look

Part of the problem is the screen detailing your penalty does not actually tell you which game and which match you quit from. The message says that it looks like you didn't finish a game. So a new user to the site may have trouble telling you which game they didn't finish.

My suggestion is that you don't leave the table until the screen showing your rise or lowering in ELO comes up. That ensures the game is over. But if it is a turn based game and your turn timer expires, you are probably getting booted from the game. Keep track of all the games you are currently playing by pressing the yellow icon to the left of your avatar in the upper right corner (the one that has 5 circles) and this will tell you which tables you are currently playing at and whose turn it is.
