Bring back Turn Based "No Time Limit + Friends Only"

I am discriminated through the new options.
I have no possibilities to change my life situation. Chronical desease. I pay for playing.
I have "friends" accepting the consequences that I have sometimes a break.
This is good and makes my life with ME much better.

I am a normal player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The new options brings pressure in this wonderful activity. Why????
This was a bad decision and discriminates people.
We have pandemic times. Many people are vulnerable. Online gaming is a way: having fun and contacts.

Have you tried the slowest turned setting, as suggested by the admin? Does it make a real difference with no time limit?

It makes a huge difference. The slowest setting still only gives you five days; I have a very erratic work schedule, managing a world-touring band, which means that sometimes I am able to take turns many times a day and sometimes I’m traveling and can’t take turns for a week or more at a time. My friends understand this, and don’t mind, and that’s why we play turn-based with no time limit. Five days is not enough — only NO TIME LIMIT solves this problem.

I didn’t even notice the change until today because I was on one of those long trips! I tried to start new games with friends and am so frustrated to find out I am being forced into time-limited games that will inevitably result in time penalties. A 4-day time joker is not enough to cover those situations, especially when I only get 4 a year. I have been playing no time limit games for five years, they are great, that is how my friends and I want to play. We pay for the membership. Let us play on our own time schedules!

I have been a premium member for the past five years and it matters to me to be able to accumulate stats (and not time penalties!) by having my wins — and losses — reflected in my ELO. And it matters to me not to be forced onto an arbitrary schedule of turn taking that doesn’t work with my life.

These forum posts show how valuable that no time limit option is to many many many premium members, and there’s no downside because a game that no one plays in for a long time gets shut down as abandoned anyway. Please don’t penalize those of us who sometimes have entire weeks where we can’t take turns.

Bring back turn-based No Time Limit games for friends.

Yes! I will have to stop playing if this doesn’t come back. We host all of our public library programs through BGA and have for two years. This is a huge nightmare! Please bring it back!

Yes, I would never play NTL with randos who I don't know, but my friends list is all people I reguarly game with and trust not to spike the game by needlessly dragging play out. They wouldn't be on friends list if they were. Also, because they're friends, I recognize that sometimes things happen that may cause someone to take an unusually long time on their turn (and they recognize that sometimes something may happen on my end as well, but that I will take my turn as soon as I am able). By eliminating NTL between friends BGA is using a sledge hammer to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

Please bring back turn-based no time limit with friends to my favourite gaming platform.

This is how I play the majority of my games (just under 700 games played so far, member since 2020).

For folks that have unpredictable schedules and only intermittent access to internet (we don’t all live or work or travel to places for work that have access to the internet) playing time limited games brings an added level of logistics and stress. Playing games shouldn’t equal extra stress!

I don’t understand why the no time limit with friends was removed. I can understand not wanting to play no time limit games with strangers but playing with friends shouldn’t be a problem.

Although no time limit is still offered in training mode, training mode isn’t as full featured and means that gamers that play turn-based can’t participate in ELO.

I agree I would like to see a return to having a no time limit mode for friends of the table creator.

I always used the unlimited time with friends for the reasons other have outlined. The one thing I'd like to add is that the position of the button to boot someone out of the game if they're out of time has lead to me accidentally booting someone out a couple of times. If having no time limit with ELO (my first choice) is not an option, moving the big flashing timer icon and the button to a less prominent location would be helpful.

What an awful change by the admin team that fixes a "problem" maybe 1% of the user base had. There is no world in which no time limit games should be restricted to training mode only. I'll never understand why companies feel the need to make changes that remove options and try to argue that "having less options is actually better for our players"?!?!

I also want this restored, taking the option away from just the real time where people could be trapped seams like a more resonable response then what has been done
