Waikirikiri versus NeomaD123 "The Kokoda Trail"

First round Waikirikiri Allies 7 medals (29 figures), NeomaD123 Axis 5 medals (23 figures)
A tactical battle with neither side having overwhelming cards of dice. It could have gone either way.
In his final two turns, Waikirikiri played "Behind Enemy Lines" and "Air Power" to eliminate 2 single figure units and get the win.

Second round Waikirikiri Axis 7 medals (28 figures), NeomaD123 Allies 4 medals (24 figures)
The battle started slowly as Waikirikiri played his less helpful cards while accumulating better cards.
Eventually with an "Infantry Assault" the Axis launched their attack on their left flank.
Favourable dice saw an Allied unit in a bunker eliminated in the first attack.
Waikirikiri kept pressure on that flank gaining medals before switching to the centre then the right flank.
NeomaD123 kept the pressure on with steady attacks weakening and eliminating Axis units.
A "Barrage" from Waikirikiri eliminated a single figure Allied infantry to get the final medal of the battle.

Result: win to Waikirikiri 14 medals 57 figures against NeomaD123 9 medals 47 figures

NeomaD123 is a worthy opponent who I'd recommend to others.

Oracix vs Yves le Burgond

Round 1

A very intense confrontation on the left flank but the presence of British diehards got the better of the axis forces despite reinforcements from the centre. A breakthrough on the right flank was then successfully achieved.

Round 2
Oracix (Allies) : 7 medals (31 figs) - Yves (Axis) : 4 medals (18 figs)

A timid assault on the left flank was repulsed by the British. Then came an attack on the right flank which was also repulsed. More intense engagements took place on the centre which was taken by the Japanese. "Behind the lines" for the British led to victory by killing a weakened unit behind the front.


Total : Oracix : 13 medals (57 figs) - Yves : 11 medals (47 figs) -> Oracix won

twenty9oh7 vs Vangoce

Round 1
twenty9oh7 (Allies) : 6 medals (27 figs) - Vangoce (Axis) : 7 medals (28 figs)

Vangoce stormed from his left flank and his engineers closed in from there and from the middle. With only 2 center cards drawn in the round, I managed to fight the best I could and ultimately had a very lucky barrage draw that pulled in one last medal before Vangoce successfully decommissioned my artillery unit and won the round.

Round 2
twenty9oh7 (Axis) : 7 medals (31 figs) - Vangoce (Allies) : 5 medals (27 figs)

An all out assault on the left flank was defended quite well by the British at first, but it eventually caved while I took some significant losses. Then I managed a brute force attack on the right flank which slowly but surely ate away at the units posted there. As Vangoce began to pick off my straggling units, they quickly gained 3 medals to put them just behind my lead at 6 to 5 and their medics re-upped a front line unit. The last remaining axis straggler managed to weave in and out of attacks as the right flank bolted along the river and closed in on an infantry unit that fell during the last axis unit's roll.

The back and forth in this tug of war scenario was pretty intense and Vangoce put up a wonderful fight. A well played match by a great competitor.

[Athafil]

Embe13 vs Athafil - Athafil wins

First round: Athafil Japan - Eban Australian forces

Athafil starts a strong offensive on the left side, but the attack is partially stopped by bunkers and the wire. However a second wave allows to clear the village and the third clears most of the defense. The australian defence however fights strongly, with the reinforcement from the coastline, but and incursion behind the line is the proverbial last drop. The valiant counterattack of a brave Aussie unit, cause only partial damage to the japan artillery, and with a last cry of Banzai even the right side fall.

Japan 7 - Australia 5


On second round Japan start strongly with both a full attack on left side, supported immediatly after by an incredibly right hour and the full plan of the Hq from Japan. However, due to probably a really defective crate of faulty ammo, most of the australian forces resist, and they fight every inch. Two infantry Japan squad retreats to the end to take cover, but first a long artillery shot, and than an air attack kill both of them. The Japan however attack strongly on all the front and the defense crumble, but taking a lot of Japanese with them. At the end (6-6) the last full equipped Australian attack fiercely from the hill a japan unit , however the fatigue shows, and all attacks fails. Immediatly Japan reply and kill the unit to the last man, closing the round at 7 Japan vs Australian 6 flags.

2 incredibly close and tense games. The first one was decided by the single die of the "Battle Back" of my allied arty...Pfiuuuu
In the second a brutal slugfest among our infantry units erupted...I managed to kill the arty and conquer the city with the temporary medal.
