Is it possible to play solo ?

Post by Waikirikiri »

As I am new to BGA I'm not sure if it is possible to play M44 solo on BGA?

Or is training mode the only alternative?

Yeah - you make a game - use "invite friend" and pick "hotseat".

But please don't get upset with yourself if you roll all stars and flags...

Just read about "Hotseat" but could a player just play himself to boost his ELO/Ranking up that way?

Hotseat games are training-mode only, as far as I know.

I was hoping that the robot would play the other side just like on DoW, but ... there's no robot, it was just me, myself, and I (myself was spectating).

Seriously though, it would be great to have a robot on the other side.

In any case, it'll need some work to make it a little more elegant. Like no need for a turn transition screen with a big button telling you to press it because it's "your" turn. Just give me my turn (or give I my turn ...?).

Also it kept telling me that I was connected ... over and over and over again (or was it telling myself ... sorry I'll stop now).

I haven't checked - but this is one of those things that should be on the "suggestions/bugs" site I think.

Maybe it could just be an option when you set up the hotseat "Solo mode" or "Design mode" (I use it a lot when I play-test scenarios).

In any case - good point.

Bga goal is to make players play together so AI are not encouraged at all, which is why there arent any solo mode on M44 and there will probably be never such a mode.
A "design" mode for testing map makes sense though

This mode is normally used to play against someone else in the same location as you. The turn transition screen “comes up” at the end of one players turn to pass your device to the next player so you do not see their cards (or other information)
