I didn't say "ignore the win", I said "ignore the win percentage", meaning ignore the number shown in the website as percentage of wins, because that's not what it is and it's not accurate. If you care about your winning percentage, keep track of it, or review your full list of games.

There are many games and sports where it is honorable to concede
Like Boxing?
One can say they won the 2nd match if that is important
saying and believing is just a thing - It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing). BGA has redefined the Game. Where quitting is recommended and even encouraged...whereas DoW, that was never the case. There are two games to be had, ignoring the "win" in either game does not help...making quitters out of both the winner and the loser.
"I will never ask for it"
Really? I have to call you out on that one!
BGA allows it in the rules and when you play here you signed up playing knowing the rules on either
Things aren't always as they seem here on BGA...they sometimes say one thing and mean something completely different.
Sometimes it's just not fun having your derrière spanked.
Thats not what's going on here.
definitely will not berate him as a loser.
I am not against a loser quitting. What I don't agree with is when a winner encourages Quitting or when a Winner quits right in the middle of the game...Ergo: winners are losers.
Great fun...losers steal all the thunder/Glory.

Quitters are slow learners.

@Wiking44

I had a response to your now deleted post.

Quitters have increased tenfold while playing (M44) on BGA. Not many players quit in the middle of a game match when playing on DoW site. This is the difference (big difference) between playing a "friendly game" on Dow site vs playing a "game match" on BGA. Maybe there should be an incentive (reduce point loss) to keep players interested in winning (not quitting) the "game?"
Quitters are slow learners.
It's never fun (any game) playing against a habitual quitter.

I have been playing wargames for 40+ years and M44 is considered a "Beer & Pretzels" game not to too be taken too seriously but enjoyed for what it is
Might be time to get back to the basics...Never quit, and don't consider the dice.
I would recommend ignoring the "win %"
Win loss ratio speaks volumes.
I do not care if he concedes
Neither do I, really. I never quit. Turns out, first and only time I have ever quit is while playing Solo  Declared the Winner and it was credited as a loss...I learned my lesson...Never Quit!
Here on BGA winners can be losers.

I beg to differ. In the round of 32 in the M44 tournament, I played an opponent who had returned from traveling and wanted to play at an earlier evening time for them so that they could get good sleep for their work the next day. Cards and dice being what they were, my opponent bested me 6 to 1 in medals for the first match. By your measure, I'm a "loser" for bowing to my opponent and acknowledging the inevitable defeat do that they could get some more sleep. Since I value my opponent over the game, I conceded so that they could get rest for their next day IRL. Personally, I think that makes me a good sport, and even though I was a loser, I wasn't a sore one. I made a new friend to play M44 with and I can hope I lost to the eventual champion. Those are wins in my book.

It's a game and I believe the reward should be joy and comraderie. Let me know when the site pays out for your win % and then my attitude might change.

It was never my intention to berate losers. If you read (earlier post) between the lines, you might find that I was lambasting winners (including myself)...If anything.Quote: "Lots of players don't want to continue playing a game they have already Won...same holds true for the losers...they don't want to continue a game they've already lost. What do they both have in common? They are quitters...quitters are losers." Meaning; Winners can be losers too. Odd how you guys associated quitters as being the losing party...as if losers are the only ones that quit...not to be confused with conceding.

I recently played a Solo game where I couldn't win for losing - lost a game that I won. Out of all the games I've played, I have never quit. The first time I ever quit a game (playing Solo), I lose even after being declared the winner (how does that happen)...this only strengthens my resolve. "Quitters [aka winners] are losers!!!!  BGA says so, and I say so (through my own experience).

I've played over 3,000 games on the DoW site, and maybe only a couple of times have I had players quit in the middle of a 'Match." Rarely, if ever have I encountered an opponent quit in the middle of a game. Never have I encountered a winner quit in the middle of a "match."
Here on BGA I have played 23 games, and had over 5 players quit right in the middle of a match (didn't know I was that good). Most recently I ran across a gentleman requesting that I quit the "match," a match that he had already won, so we can start a new one...is that your idea of fun? It might have something to do with (BGA) Forced matches.  Quitting might seem okay to the rest of you, but I don't agree with it and it doesn't agree with my game play. Quitting isn't just for losers - It's becoming part of the game.

When has it ever been okay to encourage players to quit in the middle of any game? Only while playing the game match is it okay, right? Don't get too comfortable with it. quitting in the middle of a game spoils; "for the fun of it." You go all friendly while playing the game, but it gets a little more serious while playing the match. Win the first game, all good and fun...stealing all the fun away from the true victor in the second match. One move can disinterest the winner of any game match. He could be nine medals ahead and not care if he wins or loses the game, because he already won the match. The real sad part about it is - he wouldn't blink an eye if he lost the game while being nine medals ahead. Even if his opponent wishes to continue, he'd continue encouraging him to quit. I'd love to see my opponent win the Game while being nine medals behind. It's sad that only then will the winner, aka quitter, encourage his opponent to quit the match...where's the joy and comradery in that?

Players are becoming all too familiar with quitting while engaged in a match.

*game= 1st game
*match= 2nd game.
