Playing with freinds

Hi everyone,

I am trying to play Catan with a friend of mine but I am having an issue getting the game started. It is just 1 friend I am trying to add to the table and then search for a 3 or 4th random player. Is this possible? I have a premium membership so i assume it is but please help.

Hi,
In the lobby https://boardgamearena.com/lobby , you have many settings in the top.
You want to keep 'simple game'.
Then you have the choice between 'real time' and 'turn based'.
And then you have the choice of your opponents. It look like for you it's on 'friends only'. You need to change it to 'manual'.

Then you create a table.
Then before opening your table to all players, you invite manually your friend.
ANd then you open your table to all players.


Alternatively, you can click on the '+ play with friends' in the top of the lobby, then select your friend. That will create a chat with him for you to discuss, and invite him automatiquely to any game you create.

Romain672 has explained the process very well and detailed. But I think he might be misinterpreting your intention on this point:

If you choose 'friends only' it is just this, so no foreign player can join the table. You said you want to "search for a 3 or 4th random player", so if you want to allow players to join you don't know, don't set the 'friends only' option.
