Seems to me that keeping promises to your paying customers should be a fairly high priority.

And if BGA can repeatedly manually remove 'stuck' players from games less than an hour after the games start, I'm guessing someone could manually change the premium rate paid back to the old one if they truly wanted to keep their word to users whose accounts merely lapsed because of a technicality.

#1 - I can see how the person who posted this thread felt frustrated by prices raising when they changed their payment method when they didn't expect them to.

#2 - I think BGA is dramatically underpriced for the amount of content it gives users. I think most users get at least $10-15 per month use out of it, and people like myself who play a lot probably get $40-50 per month worth of use out of it.

Obviously the problem is exactly what Tissac is saying....but its not an explaination, its a problem. One that should be solved, and anyone who hits it should get something more helpful from the BGA team like "contact us directly and we will make this right".

The entire complaint is justified and remediable.
Having a missing feature is different from not keeping a promise IMO, at least on the truth I can give to BGA (which is also what this topic is about), so that's why I wanted to insist on the distinction, quoting the original post made by sdd.
Now it's up to you to either believe that the "not being able to change bank account without cancelling subscription" issue is kept that way on purpose to kick player out of old price, or just because the team is already busy as heck implementing/fixing other things. (or both)
well said, Tisaac.

Patrick as mentioned I have been a premium member for a while, and way before there was really any advantages for being one but more because I liked the website.

Clearly I do not believe BGA to be a poor website. And to be clear I have renewed my subscription at a higher rate.

Nonetheless, I still feel their communication was hugely misleading. And the practice of changing your credit card implying to change your subscription hugely outdated :-)

And contrary to Tissac, I would prefer them to fix the small "issues" like that one which ternishes their brand image to adding another new game.

And what I expressed here was really more about surprise and huge disappointment.

Have a nice day!

I also agree on the very poor communication, but i personnaly put it on some kind of "amateurism" rather than some bad intention.

Bga admins almost never add games, they are working on the main site (lobby, Arena, ...), the infrastucture that make it all possible, etc. That being said, you can disagree on the priority list they have for these tasks, this issue could be treated with higher priority instead of the new lobby for instance indeed.

No it does not imply that whatsoever. We pay by card. Cards get replaced every three years. So we need to update our payment card card details when that happens. We do not cancel our subscription in doing so, even technically. Same applies even if you have another payment method. Provided you have not let your account lapse (by not paying), they have broken their promise.

"Changing your bank account ___ON BGA___ implies cancelling your subscription and creating a new one, so they technically kept their promises on the subscription thing."

Again, feel free to be mad about the fact that you can't change the bank account without cancelling your subscription all you want (and I agree 100% with that), but just don't claim BGA promised anything about that. They said you will keep the price as long as the subscription is not cancelled and that's what was done.

One can't help but feel slighted.

I have only been a Premium member for a few years but will most likely discontinue when my current year is up.

I recently had my bank card info stolen & had to have my card canceled. The only subscription I had on my card was for this site. I find it terribly disappointing that because I am a victim of fraud I will also now lose my lower Premium rate.

I do enjoy the site & get use out of it daily but, even as low as it is, I just cannot add any more expenses to my current budget.

I can hope that it will be "fixed" before my subscription comes due but it really is an awful way to treat loyal subscribers when a situation is outside of their control. :(

Just read the news about the new increase : everyone will be affected. So having an ongoing subscription will change nothing, except saving you up to 1 cheaper year anyway

I hadn't seen anything about a blanket increase in subscription, I'll have to look that up.

If I remember correctly the site is now owned by Asmodee & their company motto seems to be "increase membership & lower customer benefit".

I foresee a time in the near future when there will be no free play on this site :(
