Reporting players who block - just why?

They actually chose to take a penalty and NOT waste your time.

If you quit after 10 minutes you have wasted 10 minutes of your opponents' time.

You still get ELO for winning since they quit based on the percent of the game completed so it’s not really a waste of time. They took negative ELO and a -10 Karma penalty which is fair. It’s only your opinion that despite you still being counted as the winner and they took their penalty that it’s a waste of your time.

You get credit for winning against the player who quit but ties against all other players in the game. Ties are usually bad for my ELO.

I had an opponent get stuck in Seattle today. They drew new destinations and quit before making a choice. I found them playing another game a couple minutes later. If anything gets reported, it should be this behavior.

Why should they be reported for quitting and starting a new game if they didn’t like playing with you and your style of gameplay?
They already took the penalty by quitting the game and getting -10 karma. Why should they get doubly punished? Give them a red thumb for your personal opinion if you want but it s not report worthy.

When you create a game there's an inconspicuous link with the game options for you to add a "presentation," which is a text message that appears with the game's listing of open tables (assuming people are using "simple game" to find a game). So you could write something like "All blocking moves are welcome!" or "Casual game; no unnecessary blocking please" or whatever you want.

Blocking can be part of trying to win. Are you saying it is bad sportsmanship not to block when it would increase your chances of winning?

I would say so. If you have a chance to win and you don't take it you are not trying to win.

Lol well then that’s BGA’a own fault for implementing something for players to use that is against their own Code of Conduct. Since they allow it and give you a penalty for it already it would not make sense to further penalize.

I don't think giving a penalty means they "allow it". If you get a speeding ticket and pay the fine, that does not mean speeding "is allowed". On the contrary, the penalty (and the mention in the Code of Conduct) is indication that it is not allowed.

I would say so. If you have a chance to win and you don't take it you are not trying to win.

So, all the people who recognize this chance to increase their chances of winning and do not utilize it and practicing poor sportsmanship. I'm not sure I would go that far, but complaining about people who do make use of this strategy does sound to me like poor sportsmanship.

They’ve literally implemented a button for it, ergo they allow it. If they didn’t allow it then there would be no quit button and the only way to leave a game early would be to run out of time and be kicked. Since that’s not the case BGA does allow it.

At the bottom of Table Configuration. It says:

(no presentation yet) [modify]

You click on [modify] to add a "presentation" message.
