Ok to create an open invite to Alpha game?

Sorry for the rookie question, but I am new to Alpha and wanted to make sure I got it right.

May I invite non Alpha BGA users into an Alpha game?

...I see one of my games that is waiting for players automatically on the public games available page...so I guess it is ok.
