Karma Penalty for Conceeding game.

Post by csroberts »

My last three times I have conceeded a game I've gotten a Karma penalty. Has anyone else had this issue?

If you got a penalty, you have quitted the game, not conceded.

On the other hand, it may be that you saw a message about karma penalty when you conceded, but that was related to some previous event (those messages are usually somewhat delayed).

Yeah... I noticed that some time ago on one arena tournament.

I don't agree at all with karma penalities for conceding or quitting a lost game.
In Chess for example what is the point of continue a game if you have 2 Queens less than your opponent.

In my experience as a physical game chess player many years ago, when i was on some national federation championships, Morst of non tied games was conceded by one of the players. And also most of the tied games was agreed between both of the players.

So why not allow people concede a game on 1x1 games with no penality, and why not allow people to concede a 1x1 game in tournaments?

You can concede 1 vs 1 game. In some tournament formats, the score is used as tiebreaker, so I guess conceding may be disabled. If course, chess doesn't have score, so there that is pointless.

Thanks, I wondered why conceding wasn't allowed in tournament games.
