American Rules Variant

Post by SEGACD32XMODEL1 »

Is there any way to get the American Rules as a variant as that's what I grew up with and other companies use.

First difference is you don't see the trump when bidding.
Second, Scoring. When you get your bid, you get 5 points plus bid points. If you do not get your bid or go over, you get only bid points.
And Third, the "Out Rage" keeps no trump until somebody plays a "Change Rage" card.

This will help bring some American players on to the platform and to the game that otherwise would get confused and quit, never coming back.

This is the version my family plays:

I couldn't agree more with this comment/question. I have both the Fundex version released in 2006 and the Ideal version from 2013. My family has, I believe, 6 different copies of those versions between us all and we play it regularly. I was so pleased to see it on here when I first signed up and then SO devastated to see the VERY different Amigo/TCG Factory (non-American) version that is being used. I know many people that would love to play this game if it were released in the American version.

I agree 100%! The rules for the Fundex printing should be switchable options when setting up the game. I would recommend making each rule switchable as many many Rage players play a mix of both editions.

Didn't have time today to make them separate options, but I did release update with an option for "American rules".

No penalty to not making exact bid
Only +5 if making exact bid of "0"
Pick the color for Change Rage
Out Rage keeps no trump until someone plays a Change Rage

I also added in-game options to auto-play if only 1 card is possible and you can pre-select a card you know you want to play next.
