It appears to me that on a regular basis I am unable to win as much ELO as I lose. Granted, I tend to win more than I lose and as such I'm gaining ELO.
For example I won a 3 player game:
Me 310 + 13 = 323
P2 414 - 8 = 406
P3 100 - 0 = 100
I beat a player with significantly more ELO but I didnt get much of an ELO increase. I sort of understand why P3 didn't lose ELO, he has a lot less than me and P2
Here I won a 2 player game:
Me 181 + 15 = 196
P2 407 - 16 = 391
Again, a player with twice my ELO and I basically gain what they lost
I haven't lost recently in a 2 player game where P2 had lower ELO, primarily because I now avoid lower ELO when I can. But sometimes I lose twice the ELO the other player gains, or they gain twice the amount that I lose. Why is that, especially when I am the lower ELO player, the gain/loss is very similar?
Here I took last in a 3 player game:
P1 343 + 9 = 352
P2 103 + 9 = 112
Me 292 - 18 = 274
In my examples of my most recent play, it almost looks like ELO is redistributed among the players. But when I lose to a lower ELO player in 2 player, and also when in 3/4 player most opponents are lower ELO, I sometimes lose up to twice the gain of the other players... yet when I win against higher ELO I don't receive a similar benefit.
Why is this?
