How is arena mode voted for? Why is photosynthesis voting closed?

I have become a guru for Photosynthesis, and feel strongly that 2p would be a better choice for arena mode.

However, it says that voting has closed for the next season.

Conversely, most other games where I'm guru seem to have voting still open.

Is this because Photosynthesis is a new game?

Is there a bug, where folk are basically given zero input into not only the first season of a game (which makes some sense) but also the next one?

I'm basically wondering why I can't vote for a different arena mode in Photosynthesis.

As a related note, I feel strongly that 2p would be a better default option. I'm curious how the arena mode for the first season of a game is chosen.

I guess it's because:

Important Reminder: Recent Games Are Not Included in the End of This Season.

All games published (= out of Beta) less than 1 month before the end of a season are not included in the end of the season (no trophies, no relegations).

So effectively the season rolls over to the next one for Photosynthesis. However, such reminder was not included in the latest season announcement, so I wonder if it's still in effect.

I guess if the intention is that games added at the end of one season get a longer season rather than a short one, that makes some sense.

I just wish it was more clearly indicated.

And if it is actually just keeping the default settings, it REALLY shouldn't be saying "With your votes, you decided as Gurus to keep the current Arena format for next season. Thank you!"
