The player effectively instantly lost when he ran out of time, that's what the time limit is for. Since the multiplayer game cannot continue normally without that player, there is no other solution than just treating all the other players as tied winners at that point. Asking others for permission does not work, since the current winner (which may not have been the winner at the end of the game) will block it for as long as possible.

The timing is of the expulsion is unfortunate, that's true. If you wish to avoid this, the solution is playing with high reputation players on slow speed and not running out of time.

The reason OP didn't gain any Elo was that she won from a Beginner player as a 276 Elo player: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=365139270. Another player did gain Elo.

This is not right, it is gaming the system for whatever purpose they did it for. Expelling should require 2 people in games of 3+ and some kind of buffer near to the end.

I'm never playing Stone Age again after somebody did this to me, literally pulling home my meeples for the final score and they got rid of me. Me and the others then spent 5 minutes discussing what had gone wrong because that entire session was ruined.
Most likely you are lying or you are talking for ever to Press a button. You go into Negative and they get an option to kick u. When they press it its not an instant. You have another 20 Second to Finish. BUT if you do Any move the 20 Second counter gets stopped and they need to press kick u again and another 20 Second counter starts. So you must have been doing nothing to get kicked. Its super annoying to play a 60 minute game with someone that slow and i would kick you out when ever i could cause most likely by The end of the game į would have been fed up with such slow play and would t even care if ir was the last move. More than 20 Second to pull your meeples are you joking?
Thats The problem people you always blame the other. Think what you did. How misserable the other person has to be to pull the plug at finishing moves.
Play turn based if you need minutes to decide what meeples to pull...
It was the last move after a 60 minute game, I was taking back my men and they could see I could. Whether it was 2 or 20 seconds, does it matter? the point being we were literally at the end of the game. Maybe just get off your high horse for a second. Somebody was 'miserable' because I took 23 seconds to figure out the best order to pull back my last set of 9 meeples spread across 4 different sections, working out which is the best order to resolve it? I doubt it.

You must not have ever played Stone Age. Pulling your meeples can take a while. Especially if you’re playing on mobile and have to turn your device sideways every time you want to redeem goods for a card or structure. I simply refuse to play that game on fast mode because I always go negative because it’s not enough time.

If the other player hadn’t been kicked I would have gained ELO though as a player who remained but did not kick the other also has 274 ELO. And I was definitely going to win since we could see the points tallied as soon as the one player was kicked and I took my final turn.

That means your opo was already frustrated all game cause you were constantly talking for ever. If you managed to run out of time in last move.
To make last move you Dont need a lot of time at all cause you think about it when its your opo turn and when its your turn you just do it takes few Seconds.
So like į said į assume you you were super slow all game that frustrated your oponents, most likely you were wining so opo had another insentive to kick u out. So it was a D move from your oponent but its all on you. Never assume oponent is honorable. And play in your given time. Rules are rules. You ran out of time, your fault. Nobodies elses, just yours. Doesnt meater first or last turn.

I just had this happen on a game of 7 Wonders turn based. Literally the last turn and someone booted another for going 30 minutes overtime.

Booting a player for going over time should require a vote of all players who are not over time.

Yes, and three of us on the chat talked about how uncool that was. Literally what is the harm in letting someone go overtime? Also it was early morning when they booted. This was also turn based, real time is different. If playing games on BGA is "wasting time" you should find a different activity.

Personally, I usually never boot but do check people's profile.
I'll gladly share my time with most players, considering everyone can have good reasons to be late sometimes.

But if it's something like this * I won't hesitate much.
The only reason I don't immediatly boot this kind of players is because I'm here to play, and prefer to completing my games. (also, in case there's more than 2P, they must be considered too in such a decision, btw)

Letting someone timeout (in tournament) doesn't even seem to affect reputation as being kicked probably does.
And finishing games using your opponent's timer doesn't seem to affect it either...
This looks silly to me, since some people really abuse this.

*Moderator edit: please do not use the Forums to call out specific players, this is an area for general discussion not blaming.
