It's boring to win in catan or in any other game and one of the players leaves the game and you end up gaining 0 Elo because of another. There should be a rule that at least gives points to the one he was winning in that game. Almost an hour of play for nothing.

For nothing? Didn't you enjoy playing the game? If not, maybe you should reconsider how you spend your time.

You get ELO for beating the player who abandoned. It's wouldn't be fair to the rest of the table to declare you the winner just because you happened to have a VP lead when someone left.
