It was a long night, with both players moving units into defensible positions until dawn broke, followed by some long-range fire exchanges. Eventually axis forces attacked on both flanks, scoring some initial victories. However, effective allied counterattacks and return fire had its effects, destroying all of the axis armor. That was followed by an air attack that knocked out the axis mobile artillery. An axis BEL was too little, too late.

Morning came quickly, and axis launched a major assault on his right flank with 1 armor and 5 infantry. The allies counterattacked on all fronts, scoring some early wins by eliminating frontline axis units or forcing them back. Eventually most of the fighting was on the axis right flank, with long-range fire exchanged in the middle. Finally the allies stopped the major axis right-flank sweep, while axis continued bombarding in the middle, reducing the allied forced there--but no advance was possible due to mines. A sudden attack by axis on the left flank, beginning with a devastating bombardment on anti-tank troops (the only remaining effective defense allies had on that side), followed by an armor and infantry blitz, sealed the win.
