Different time per move in Arena for the same game

Post by TheSnowstorm »

Sometimes certain arena games will have different times between turns. For example, I have played Nanga Parbat this season and usually, it is 2.5 days per move, but some games it is only 24 hours per move. Why is that?

There are different speed settings for the tables, in all types of games (not only Arena mode). In turn-based Arena mode, the speeds are going from 24 moves per day (fastest) to 1 move per 2 days (slowest). Probably, your preferences are now set to be flexible on the speed settings, so you may end up on tables using different speeds.

From the game page, you can use the slider to select a certain speed. You can allow or not to play at different speed settings according to what you prefer.
If you search for games from the Play Now page, then click on the gear symbol, then under Game speed you can see and change your preferences.
On a table of a game in progress (or a replay) you can check the speed by going to the Options tab under the game, and games options are indicated on the bottom.

Even for arena? I knew it was for regular matches but didn't realize that affected arena. Thanks.

Arena games have fixed game settings, but not fixed turn length. You can play them real-time or turn-based, with any of the available speeds.
