How do you discard down to hand limit?

I'm new to BGA but not Ark Nova. I tried to play a game recently, but I could not work out how to discard cards during a break and the game ended up timing out ;-(

Please could someone let me know how you discard cards? Each time I clicked on a card that I wanted to discard a grey trash can was superimposed over it, but when I clicked that (thinking it would confirm that I wanted to delete it, the trash can disappeared again). What am I missing? And is there a way to get a good overview of a games' BGA interface before playing against a human opponent? I don't want to incur penalties simply because I can't work out how the interface works.

If you have to discard X cards during a break, you need to select X cards (they will have a grey bin overlay) then confirm it’s these cards you wish to discard. You don’t discard them one by one.

If you wish to learn how the interface works, you can play a game in training mode (no time limit). For Ark Nova, there is a tour presenting the different elements of the interface as well. Also, feel free to ask questions in the chat, to the other players.
