Active solo game disappearing

Twice in the last 2 days I’ve set up a solo game of Earth, and when I came back to it later it had disappeared. Am I doing something wrong, and what can I do to stop this from happening? I’d spent ages selecting my starting cards and had taken my first couple of turns.

Have you made the game asynchronous? Asynchronous games are closed after 30 days (or maybe more) but live games are closed after 24 hours.

It was a solo game in training mode which I set up earlier this afternoon and it had disappeared by the evening.

A training game can be in real-time or turn-based (asynchronous). From the FAQ, here is how much time a table stays open when not playing:

How long does a game table stay open if nobody is playing anymore?
When nobody has made a move at a game table for a while, it is closed automatically to free up server resources:
A real-time table is closed automatically if more than 4 hours have elapsed since its creation and if all players at this table are now offline.
A turn-based table is closed automatically if no move has been made in 40 days.

So if you open a solo game and you want to play it later, make sure to either start in turn-based or to switch it to turn-based before going offline to not lose it.

Maybe this is different in solo games?

I couldn't manage to play a solo game in Ark Nova as a "turn-based" game. I am aware that it has to be set as training mode. But although I set it to "turn-based" before switching to training mode, it seemed to be a "real-time" game, that is: I couldn't open another real-time game at the same time. I tried another solo game in Ark Nova and changed to "turn-based" after game start, with the same result.

I just tested this and was able to start a TB game of Ark Nova solo and play a RT game of Lucky Numbers. I started both from their respective Games Pages.

I've had the same thing with disappearing solo games in hardback after just a few hours. Basically if I close the app (even with no log out) it dumps the game. It never used to do this.

It's still doing it. Put phone down shortly after midnight mid game. Opened app just after 8am, solo hardback game gone.

It says: "Friendly mode: no rankings, no time limit per turn, no penalties. Real-time game.", so it was closed after 4 hours of inactivity.
