What happens when time runs out in turn-based games?

Post by MrQuickline »

In real-time games, if the timer runs out, players have an option to Kick the player that's not playing. Is that the same thing in Turn-Based?

I accidentally created a real-time table that we meant to be turn-based. It's a private table with just my friends. We agreed to switch it to turn-based, but the turns are much shorter than we would have had if we created the game to begin with.

If my assumption is correct and nothing really happens when the timer runs out, then I have nothing to worry about. But if turn-based games work differently and it kicks people automatically when they take too long, we'll stop the game now and re-created.

No, it's the same, you have to kick a player out, otherwise nothing happens (besides the red timer and a notice in your profile, but no penalty). The only difference is that when you kick a player out, it's done immediately, no 20 second wait.
