Player map

Post by Andy 2022 »

I know of a user map from various other forums.

From my point of view, this makes a lot of sense here, too, because you can get to know people through this forum with whom you can also meet in real life to play together.

You mean, like a real map, where you can see where everyone lives? Because that doesn't seem ok in terms of privacy to me.

Well, as mentioned that is quite usual in forums. People with same interests use to meet to share experiences or even play together, I life in Germany and here are quite strict privacy rules but user maps are not forbidden.

But I assume that, in that case, they aren't forumwide? I mean, everyone can choose if their location is on the map or not?

I definitely understand your sentiment that it's nice to be able to meet people in real life to play boardgames with.

What you can do already on this site is search for a group with your city name in the title, and create one if there isn't already one.

You are also free to make your hometown known on your profile. And French players often use the number of their region in their username. So there are already several ways to let other people know.

It is questionable whether one ever plays against the very player who lives in the neighbourhood.
