How is Thinking Time calculated?

I tend to make my moves faster than most of my opponents. Not saying this with any agenda or complaint. But, honestly, the only time I go more than an hour or two on my turn is when I go to sleep. And I typically check my games right before I go to bed and not long after I wake. Meanwhile, most of my opponents take far longer. Again, not complaining. They have over a day to take theirs and perhaps they just login 1x a day and make their moves. Totally get it. Just saying that's how it is.

But in my stats, my thinking time is something absurd like 92000 minutes which is crazy enough as it is but also 3x what my opponents average apparently. Which anecdotally doesn't check.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

It's a bug that's been present for some time now. The displayed figure is actually the number of seconds, but the label says minutes.

thanks but that still doesn't explain my number being so high. I just did the math and 92K seconds is 25 hours. Which means that I would average 25 hours per turn. I'm not even close to that. In fact, I can say with relative certainty that I've never taken that long even once. Let alone, averaged that, given how often I've taken my turn mere minutes after it comes up.

Wondering here, why does it really matter in the end? How does it affect you or your life that there is a programming error? This stat does not affect anything about playing games, living life, and no one cares or looks at thinking time of others.

Maybe this is something to just let go of? Don't look if it bugs you. TBH there are so many big bugs on BGA that affect game playing this one is not likely to get any of the limited volunteer effort to fix. Who knows why anyone orignally thought this number mattered. It doesn't.

I believe the displayed amount is average time for a whole game, not an individual turn.

It is not your average time, it is the total amount of time you spent playing the entire game. Which is why it is so much higher than you thought it would be.
