Individually choosing to Autoplay cards

Post by nelsonbuchanan »

Some people enjoy not autoplaying cards, while others would prefer to autoplay cards. Instead of having the whole table need to autoplay, could it be individually decided by each player if they want to autoplay or not?

The publisher was happy with the current solution, so it is unlikely to change.

I have seen your reply to this in many places and understand that the publishers wants come first, but fwiw Id like to respectfully add my vote to the masses that making it a player option would be so much nicer. Hope they change their minds

"The publisher is happy with it" is not the same as "the publisher demands this is so and no other way".

I requested this while in “alpha” and they told me it wasn’t in demand enough. They didn’t think many players would want to play this way but what they don’t understand is how “turn mode” works. If I’m on and my friends aren’t I might want to turn off auto play.

There is a common theme across all games on BGA when it comes to player suggestions - if I only have one option, I don't want the game to ask me for input. What's the point? The decision is already made for me. This is the case every single time someone has to Reveal. Feels silly to force players to click the button each time.

You always have other options: quit, propose abandonment, propose switch to turn-based and, in 2-player games, concede.
