Turn-Based without ELO

Post by SirRamchip »

Our club plays turn-based games on BGA because we like to play board games. Many of us don't have any interest in participating in ELO rankings, we just want to play games.

Because we almost constantly have some games going, we are bumping into the multiple accounts algorithm. How can we play our turn-based games and opt out of ELO rankings?

You can pick 'Friendly Mode' from the game type drop down, it's usually the first option for each game.

Thank you. I think that will work. We can play without triggering the algorithm.

Just one warning: Friendly mode tables (for now) are still either realtime or turn-based.

If a real-time table goes for too long, like 4 hours, it will automatically end.

To avoid this:

* Start a friendly mode table.
* Open the table.
* Click the top right menu.
* Click the button to change to turn-based mode (if it is there).
* All players must agree.

Now, you can play your turn-based friendly game as long as you want! No pressure.

As long as "as long as you want" means one move every X days. Turn-based tables are also closed after some time of inactivity, but it's much longer, something like 40 days? (I forget the exact number).
