BGA forcing a new username on me

So, a few days ago I logged on to find out I had been moderated *

Just a look at the old name makes it obvious why the OP was asked to change it. That word doesn't only mean cigarettes.

But it definitely means cigarettes if it's teamed with the word 'Ash'.
To mistake it would mean deliberate miss interpretation.
It's quite obviously a woman who smokes cigarettes called Lilly.

Depending on where you live, half the words in the English language have some kind of slang / rude interpretation.

No one is asked to change anything.
The new username is chosen for you, from what I saw.

I mean, beside the point: the moderation is perhaps understandable, because of the "slang".
But once you are reported for an arguably offensive username/avatar, I think (I'm almost 100% sure) that a new username/avatar is chosen for you (if found guilty), without being given the option to select another username yourself.

Correct me if wrong.

All you have to do is click on their name to see what the former name was (which seems like a loophole, but that's another issue).

That ability does have the virtue of getting us to agree with at least the requirement that the username be changed.
That said, if ​ Ze Monstah ​ is correct, then I still disagree with the inability to at least
propose a different one, which would be checked by BGA before being switched to.
