Memoir'44 Kaverit tournaments

I agree with Jeroenh that the Allied right (and Axis left flank) seldomly sees a lot of heavy fighting. So cards in the other two sections are very welcome. Germans can use cards for that section to move tanks to the middle and shoot up some infantries.

It is not my preferred theatre or scenario, but this scenario balances out more than other desert scenarios in my opinion.
Of course there are some bad and good runs (I have had both ), but I feel overall the better player will come out on top more.

That is also my personal experience of this scenario. But I am no pro yet.

I would like to read your oppinions of these 6 scenarios;

[MT] [4241] Escape via the Coastal Road
[PT] [1518] Sugar Loaf ja Half Moon
[EF] [1407] Red Barricades Factory
[EX] [3465] Veriharju (Bloody Ridge)
[EX] [9579] Operaatio Goodwood

Could you recomend 1-3 scenarios for the next go (not necessarily one of these)

Red Barricades, Bloody Ridge and Operation Goodwood are very good scenarios that generally favor the player who best setups an attack or defense The only negative about Red Barricades is that it's a long scenario, so playing 10 or so games simultaneously in a tournament may feel a bit overwhelming.
Suomussalmi is also a good, quick scenario, but a bit more luck dependent, needing a good opening card draw. With the right cards for either player it can be over very quickly!

I did really badly in this tournament, and I saw very different results in my matches, with 5-0 or 4-5 results for the same setup, with seemingly no correlation to the ELO rating. Might just be me, playing badly at this one.

When choosing the scenarios to be used in tournaments the luck/skill ratio can now be defined only subjectively. It should be rather easy to count how much the ELO difference affects the results in each scenrio. The results could be used either for manual picking the scenario used or automatically ruling out too luck based scenarios when using the "random" setting.

Also possibility to set a list of scenarios used in a certain tournament would be nice: i.e. the Desert Tournament, the Five Medal Tournament, the Over Eight Medal Tounament...

In tournaments with two rounds the settings of times and scenarios of both rounds need to be able to be set separately.

Of course some of these suggestions are useful also in other games, not just in Memoir'44.

While this scenario (Flanking Maneuver at Bir Hakim) does have more of a luck competent to it than some others (not many desert scenarios don't), I feel like it did favor those who played it well, at least in my division. When I saw who was playing in the division, I felt like I had a good idea who the top 3 would be based on having played them before in some pretty high stakes tournaments and games. I wasn't going to predict the order of the top three however, because I figured the luck would potentially play a role in that. The final standings held true to my prediction...

Looking through the other divisions, I would say that the winners of each division are not surprising... All very solid players. While there were a few interesting twists of strong players finishing poorly or a new name in the top finishers, that happens in practically every tournament and should come as no big surprise!

There is room for 27 players on each tournament and it is played in groups of 3x9 and finale of 9 players
