QAWALE: 2 players in all of its 3D glory!

Post by DrClick »

This may be the shortest introduction for a new game on BGA. Which we can also call elegant. Like this game.

Simple and tactical, Qawale draws its inspiration from the piles of pebbles found at the side of the road. Like these traveling stones, place a pebble at the top of a pile before spreading it across the board's squares.

When moving a pile, players have to leave one pebble on each space crossed. The first player lining up 4 pebbles of their color from top view wins the game.

That's it.

Like these meandering stones, prepare to be transported by the many twists and turns of this incredible game.
It has more than its simple appearance and rules behind it.

You don't trust me? Check the game page by yourself and start a game. It will take you only a few minutes to realize the potential:

We would love to thank Gigamic as well as Romain FROGER and Didier LENAIN BRAGARD for their authorization to bring the game to the platform, but we also need to send all or our love to darhf for making this one exceptionally good-looking by allowing you to play a 2D version or in a glorious stylized 3D one, from any device. This way you can move it around and check all of the gameplay possibilities. Psst: they are endless. Mostly.

That's it for today!
See you next week, as the SUMMER of GAMES calendar will come back soon!
Until then, take care and play fair!

Good to see an abstract on the news page! Ironically, this one hasn't clicked with me that much so far, although it does look very good. I guess I just need to play more, as most people seem to like this one a lot.

And +1 to looking forward to the Summer of Games calendar!

Played the Beta. It is interesting, although to me it had exactly the problem I was thinking about, when I checked the rules. Y'all should give it a shot and see, if you like it or not.

I tried playing the beta and I couldn't make a move. I tried everything, clicking and dragging from my stack of stones to clicking a stack with an orange stone. Nothing works. What am I missing?

Is there a chance it's fixed in production? Have you tried a second time? No dragging. You just click on the stack you want to place your stone on. Then you click on the place you want it to drop stones...as you move the stack.

I have seen it where the interface is frozen, but that is only after replaying moves. A bug report has been filed.

Is this the first game here to have an actual 3D space?

Subject question, or is my memory blanked out, or haven't I explored enough yet?
